Leading Student-Centered Coaching
Start Date: Wed, Aug 08, 2018 8:30 am - 3:30 pm Workshop #: 6850
Presenter(s): Diane Sweeney

Giovanni's Restaurant, 610 N. Bell School Road, Rockford, IL (View Map)
Date Summary:   1 Session on 08/08/2018.

Have you ever wondered how to get more from your instructional coaching program? Are you interested in how coaching supports other initiatives? This session will answer these questions by diving into the new book "Leading Student-Centered Coaching" by Diane Sweeney and Ann Mausbach.

It's a familiar story...we hire great teachers to be coaches and then assume that their instructional background will be enough to get them started. There is so much more to developing an effective coaching model and it begins with the school leader.

Session outcomes:
*Understand the importance of partnering with coaches to leverage student learning
*Learn how coaching supports other initiatives
*Develop strategies for separating coaching from supervision
*Learn how to align coaching with the school improvement plan
*Create authentic teacher engagement in the coaching effort
