Description:

This children's literature and reading strategy-rich workshop will explore how to utilize literary and informational texts to address the needs and creations of a culturally sensitive and relevant classroom. A lens will be placed on the needs of the "whole child" through ELA CCSS and Illinois Social Emotional Learning Standards. Questioning techniques will be explored as well as ideas for healthy book discussions. An extensive bibliography correlated to the Illinois SEL Standards will be shared along with many supportive we-based resources.

This program is 100% funded with federal grant dollars.
