Description:

The new standards are an exciting opportunity to showcase how Social Studies prepares students for college, career and civic life. Bring your curricular challenges and collaborate with others in this active workshop where we will unpack the new IL Social Studies Inquiry Standards that span disciplinary content areas to take issues to action. Experience lessons guided by the new standards and walk away with free resources that embrace the Inquiry Arc to enhance your current practice.

Vertical Articulation Teams, Grade Banded Teams and individuals are welcome. Explicit ties to Charlotte Danielsonís Framework for Effective Teaching, 21st Century Skills, the Common Core State Standards and Social Emotional Learning.

This program is funded with federal grant dollars and the McCormick Foundation.
