Barter or Buy

Budgets are tight. Resources are limited. But teacher professional development is essential. According to Education Week, "Schools are only as good as their teachers, regardless of how high their standards, how up-to-date their technology, or how innovative their programs. But if teachers aren't given adequate opportunities to learn, they may have little chance of meeting the ever-increasing demands placed upon them. For this reason, professional development for teachers is increasingly considered a critical component of improving schools."
In an effort to assist schools in their need for professional development, KIDS has developed a resource called "Barter or Buy." We encourage schools and districts to take advantage of this innovative program to tap into area-wide expertise while keeping costs at a minimum.
The only "membership fee" associated with Barter or Buy is presenters. In order to access the presenter database, you must submit at least one presenter from your own school/district. The more presenters each member submits, the more useful the system becomes; we encourage you to submit several.
To begin, view the Membership Terms and then print out the Membership Agreement form. You can fax the form to 815/636-3069, or mail it to KIDS, 300 Heart Boulevard, Loves Park, IL 61111. Within 10 days, you will receive information.
